This special jewelry revisioning was for a longtime client. She’s had several life changes including going back to school and is now an attorney! Huge kudos to her for this major achievement. The last time we connected, she left me this pretty, peachy-orange stone to be identified. Off to the lab it went to be verified. We were both so very pleased to find that, just as I suspected, it’s indeed a genuine orange sapphire! Sapphires come in a rainbow of assorted colors, not just blues but purples, greens, yellows, pinks and in this case… orange! This client has been wearing more white metals lately. But I feel that most colored stones tend to really shine when paired with yellow gold. I suggested we set this stone in yellow gold and incorporate a faceted link in white gold to help this piece tie in to the rest of her collection. We added shortener links so that she’d be able to style this at various lengths with a multitude of necklines. The beauty of the multi-prong basket style setting is that it just about disappears when the necklace is on, giving the effect of a floating gem. The color of this sapphire is just so very refreshing. And it couldn’t be better timing because now she’ll get to fashion this gorgeous look all summer long.
