she saw a necklace on Pinterest that i designed for a mom to give her daughter on her wedding day. She, too, is a bride-to-be and had a wedding set from her mother that she really wanted to wear on her wedding day. we worked well together; all our correspondence was on line.
as a petite person, she did not want anything too heavy or busy. we decided to convert the engagement ring into a necklace and the wedding ring into a bracelet.
a heartfelt gift from mother to daughter.
wedding ring converted into a delicate bracelet
she loves the box link chain. my challenge was to use this link, while making sure it would not be too delicate to utilize in a bracelet. for the bracelet we split the chain, adding 2 links to feed the wedding band thru so it can move independently and finished with a lobster claw clasp for safety.
engagement ring converted to a pendant necklace
the necklace presented its own challenges. we rotated the diamond in the setting, preserving the pinch shoulder design element of the ring. at first i wanted to feed the ring thru the links in the same manner that the bracelet had been constructed; unfortunately, it would not hang correctly. Next, tried to attach the chain directly to the ring. again, it would not hang correctly. finally we used a really fine link to feed thru the box link and attach to the ring. voila! the ring necklace lays beautifully on the neck. the round modern brilliant cut diamond has 58 glorious facets for light to dance with!
- all elements of the bracelet and necklace are 14k yellow gold, except the 6-prong setting for the necklace diamond, which is 14k white gold. the diamond is 0.25 or a quarter carat.

i am humbled and grateful for the trust with the family pieces and for the opportunity to fashion something for such a special day as a wedding.
