This project began with a ring containing three diamonds. On a previous project with this client we reset the marquise diamond into a new crown and added the two round diamonds, one per side. The largest diamond was bequeathed to the oldest granddaughter. She is closest to her grandmother so it’s particularly fitting. They spent a great deal of time together including a very special cross-country trip! The granddaughter is not a flashy kind of gal, so for this piece we were looking to do something that was simple, classic and clean. We cut the crown, with the stone set, away from the ring and added links to attach the chain – an 18” machine rope with a lobster clasp. When mom came to pick this up she tried it on and we both were thrilled with the final design. Surely her daughter would be delighted with this timeless diamond pendant necklace that honors her beloved grandmother.
