Pear Shaped Engagement Ring with a Twist

These two were referred to me by his mother, a lovely past client. This couple has been together for a while. They have a family and a house so they decided they were long due for a proper wedding! Our first chat was to establish what their vision was. I was there to guide them and bring their vision to fruition. She has beautiful hands, perfect to showcase an elegant engagement ring. I made several suggestions based upon our conversations. It’s so insightful to hear a couple’s interactions to help gauge what they might be drawn to. It was settled. She wanted a lab created diamond in the brilliant pear shaped cut. She wanted it to be as high as possible while being wearable with an active family. She also preferred white metal. My contribution to this design was to create a classic Tiffany style with a spin. The prongs holding the diamond are open, allowing more light to dance into the diamond, letting off spectacular color. The tip is a chevron to protect the stone. The challenge was to set the stone low enough without splaying the crown because it is a good size. When he came to pick it up, an element of surprise still remained as he had a special plan to pop the question. No doubt she will say yes!
