A Modern Wedding Band Crafted from Meaningful Stones

I was introduced to this client through my sister (thank you, C!), and we met during one of my visits to her home. She brought with her a collection of jewelry – family heirlooms, gifts from her husband, and self-purchased pieces. While many of the styles no longer suited her, the stones themselves were beautiful and deserved to be worn rather than stored away. We discussed her lifestyle and design preferences, I sketched a few initial ideas, and she entrusted me with a bag of jewelry to reimagine. Because she leads an active life, with horses, dogs, and frequent travel, the goal was to create a ring suitable for everyday wear. She wanted wear it on her left hand as her wedding ring. Through a series of emails, texts, and video calls, we refined the design together. The final piece features sapphires and a striking diamond that once belonged to her mother. Sapphire baguettes are set in a straight channel as a subtle nod to a traditional wedding band, a challenging detail given their tapered shape. The diamond is set low for comfort and durability, while the flowing curves of the design reflect her preference for movement and softness, resulting in a ring that is both practical and deeply personal.
