He first visited the shop during the holidays a few years ago and was immediately drawn to one of my necklace designs from the teensie collection. Recently, the couple returned together. She was wearing the necklace, he was beaming with pride. This time, the visit was to reimagine a cherished family ring as their engagement ring. Petite in stature yet unmistakably striking, she inspired a design that honors both her presence and the ring’s history. The original piece featured a classic halo design, a style made iconic decades ago by the engagement of a beloved princess. We explored a range of options, including natural and lab-grown diamonds, carefully reviewing the benefits and costs of each. The redesign was guided by the existing yellow citrine being removed, whose shape and size set important parameters. To ensure the integrity and longevity of the new setting, the prongs were replaced, a practice I strongly prefer when securing a new center stone. The final design features a lab-grown oval brilliant-cut diamond, surrounded by fourteen full-cut natural diamonds. Their wedding date is set for 2026, and it was an honor to be part of such a meaningful chapter in their story.
