Empty Nester Ring Redesign

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing this client since her youngest was just two years old. Now he’s heading toward college, and they’re on the brink of becoming empty nesters. Years ago, when her children were small, she had her wedding set redesigned to withstand the daily wear and tear of life with kids. That ring has gathered so many joyful stories along the way. But as life evolves, so do our tastes, needs, and desires. It was time for something more refined and sophisticated. I had repaired the original ring many years ago, and it had reached a point where a thoughtful redesign made more sense than another repair or restoration. She came in with a few clear ideas, along with some understandable concerns that what she envisioned in her mind might not translate into reality. After a few conversations and shared inspiration images, the design came together beautifully. The new setting truly showcases her lovely pear-shaped diamond. With less metal, the center stone appears larger and more luminous, while the remaining straight-cut baguettes accenting the shoulders naturally draw the eye inward. What made this project especially heartwarming was her reaction to the finished piece. That smile absolutely made my day.
