A Loving Necklace to Eternalize a Widow’s Love

This is one of the most heartwarming projects I’ve ever had the privilege of working on. I first met this client in a business group. She’s a warm, outgoing, kind and talented photographer. Although we both left the group we’d occasionally run into each other around town. And whenever we did it was always a pleasure to catch up. On one of our latest run-ins, she shared news that life is changing and her story nearly knocked the breath out of me. Her husband had been diagnosed with cancer. And despite fighting with all they could with support from their family, friends and faith, he had recently lost his battle. It broke my heart how soon he was taken. To celebrate his life, and with their son, she has since gone on to be a voice bringing awareness about this disease. She knew what she wanted to do with this heartfelt project. We began by removing the stones from her engagement ring as well as her wedding band. Then we reset all of the stones in bezels with a cable link chain. Now she wears this necklace close to her heart, to help bring a smile to her soul in place of where his daily affections once were.
